Mela AI is a cutting-edge life coaching and companion app empowering Millennials and Gen Z to achieve their life goals through personalized, AI-driven tools and a supportive community. Mela helps you "Adult Better". Our beta is now live, and we are continuing to onboard more users as we refine the app and expand its features for 2025. This internship is not paid and ideal for someone who is looking for a college credit and/or hands on experience. This role can be for college credit and last 3-6 months long.
About the Role
We’re looking for a data-savvy and experimentation-driven Growth Product Management Intern to join our fast-moving team. You’ll work closely with Product, Marketing, Engineering, and Design to ideate, test, and launch growth initiatives that drive acquisition, activation, retention, and referrals. This internship is ideal for someone looking for college credit and/or hands-on startup experience. It is unpaid and can last 3–6 months.
Key Responsibilities
Growth Strategy & Experimentation
Identify bottlenecks in the user funnel and propose high-impact experiments to drive growth.
Develop and manage A/B tests across the product experience (onboarding, activation flows, referral programs, etc.).Analyze data to identify user behaviors and optimize performance across growth loops.
User Funnel Optimization
Collaborate with marketing and product teams to improve onboarding, feature adoption, and retention.
Support the development of viral loops and referral mechanics to increase organic growth.
Monitor KPIs and make recommendations based on user behavior, churn, and engagement patterns.
Product-Led Growth Support
Assist in building and refining product experiences that naturally drive user acquisition and engagement.
Contribute to features that improve user value moments (e.g. milestone tracking, goal recommendations, social proof).Research growth tactics from competitor apps and report on trends and opportunities.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Partner with design and engineering to execute experiments quickly and efficiently.Share results, learnings, and insights in regular growth stand-ups and syncs.
Coordinate with marketing on in-app messaging, email campaigns, and user segmentation strategies.
Key Qualifications:
Background in business, data analytics, marketing, or a related field.Strong interest in growth, experimentation, and metrics-driven product work.
Experience with or interest in A/B testing, cohort analysis, or user funnels.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.Familiarity with tools like Firebase, and Google Analytics is a plus.
Passion for personal development and user-centered design.
